So today I’m home sick so I decided I would go ahead and post the Master Bedroom project. Hopefully these pictures will do it justice. I started by using a free online interior design tool called Sweet Home 3D. Here is the beginning floor plan and some before pictures.
I don’t know if you can tell very well but the lower left picture used to be a formal living room and the master bedroom was the small room all the way to the left of the house in the floor plan and pictured in the bottom right above. This room was accessible from the long hallway from the kitchen and had a half bathroom and a closet but the room was not big enough for a king size bed. We decided we needed to combine these two rooms to make one. Once again I went back to Sweet Home 3D and came up with a game plan.
What we came up with is to take part of the hallway to become a walk in closet, make a big opening in the wall between the two rooms and then make the half bathroom into a toilet room with sink and the existing closet into a shower room with sink. Here is the during shots.
Jerry painted everything and Mark, Teddy, Larry and I put in a shower unit from Ferguson and then Larry and I tiled both the toilet room and the shower room and installed the vanities and toilet from HomeDepot. Keri bought all of the faucets from Kingston Brass which I would highly recommend. Then we moved all of our stuff in and built a headboard for the bed (which we will discuss in another post) and here is what we have…..
I made the bed for the after shots so I’m sure that I could have done better but like I said, I’m sick today and don’t really want to do it again.
